TSI Assessment Retesting

A student may retest as often as they choose, at cost, providing space is available.

RETEST THURSDAYS-- Beginning with Fall Semester 2013 with the launch of the new TSI assessment, the El Centro College Testing Center will begin administering Retest sessions on Thursdays.

Test Preparations & Practice

Mandatory Pre-Assessment Activity
 
Students must participate in a Pre-Assessment Activity before taking the TSI Assessment. Colleges or universities are required to provide the Pre-Assessment Activity and to document students’ participation. Students will not be allowed to take the TSI Assessment until they have completed the Pre-Assessment activity.
 
The activity includes the following:
 
• An explanation of the importance of the TSI Assessment
• Practice test questions and feedback

What is the El Centro Testing Center for?

El Centro’s Testing Center exists to administer placement and enrollment exams

Can ECC Testing Center staff fax an official score report?

No, ECC Testing Center staff will not fax score reports.

Can I schedule for Accuplacer over the phone?
No. Referral Forms, identification and, in some instances, receipts must be presented before pre-scheduling could be completed.

Testing Roadmap

For the New Student in Initial Testing

  1. Student must first speak to an academic advisor in order to determine which part of the TSI Assessment  or Placement Exam should be taken for proper assessment
  2. Advisor must refer student to the Testing Center with a Test Referral Form indicating student’s name, student’s ID number and noted Placement Exam requirements
  3. Student can obtain practice test and helpful information regarding the TSI Assessment placement exam from the Pre-Assessment Activity  session, Advising office or the Testing Center

ECC Testing Center testing rooms are monitored by cameras and other computer screen monitoring software.
  • A picture ID will be required
  • Children are not allowed in the testing room, and they cannot be left unattended in the Testing Center area.
  • Food and drink are not allowed in the testing room.
  • Cell phones and electronic devices must be turned off and locked in ECC Testing Center lockers before entering the testing area.

How to be admitted as a student

  1. Application
    • All students must submit an application for admission (Student Admissions Division).
  2. Advisement
    • All students must see an advisor in the Counseling Center.
    • Counselors will provide students with a Test Referral Form.
