Dual Credit Courses & Cost

Dual Credit courses are offered in a variety of subject areas including math, science, English, economics, history, government and a wide variety of technical courses. Classes meet on ECC campus or the high school campus, and are taught by college faculty or qualified high school instructors.

Dual Credit academic courses are transferable to all Texas public colleges and Universities as well as many private and out-of-state institutions. Students planning to transfer to a private or out-of-state college or university should check with the receiving school to confirm transferability of credits from El Centro College.

Tuition is currently waived for courses that are considered dual credit. Students receive both high school and college credit for the course(s) they successfully complete.
If a student takes a course for concurrent credit, then the tuition is not waived. Concurrent credit refers to enrollment for which the student receives college credit only.
If courses taken at the college campus, students must purchase their college textbooks and any other materials that are needed for the college course. Some high schools provide books for dual credit classes offered at the high schools.
