While your instructor will be a valuable sources of information about El Centro, you may have need to contact an individual specialist in a specific service area for additional help. Below you will find detailed information on the various free student services and programs provided to El Centro College students.

Often, the information you want isn't available on the Internet, but is available through our library databases. Our librarians will recommend databases that are relevant to your topic or course.
 

Online Tutoring

The Learning Center currently offers online tutoring for the following courses: SCIT, math, chemistry, and writing. Online tutoring hours vary by semester. If you have any questions about online tutoring, email ecclearningcenter@dcccd.edu.

Adult Resource CenterThe Adult Resource Center prepares and supports enrolled students of El Centro College who are single parents, single pregnant women, and displaced homemakers. All eligible students must demonstrate financial need. We help you meet the challenges of entering/re-entering the workforce, and all services are provided on a “first-come-first-serve" basis. The Assessment Center is a closed center. Only those students who are enrolled or are about to enroll in El Centro College may be assessed.

Disability ServicesThe Disability Services Office (DSO) was established in 1978 for the purpose of ensuring that students with disabilities are provided equal access to all programs and activities available at the college. Dual CreditThe best of both worlds. Juniors and seniors at participating high schools can begin earning credit at El College while earning credit toward your high school diploma. Your college tuition is waived. You can begin learning what you need to know to improve your success at a four-year college or university or you can begin preparing yourself to enter a high-paying career as early as the 12th grade. Free DART PassRegister for at least 6 credit hours during the fall or spring semesters or 3 credit hours during the summer. Also available to non-credit students enrolled in at least 96 contact hours in a single quarter, 48 hours in the summer. DART Schedules
Financial AidThe primary goal of financial aid is to assist students who, without such aid, would be unable to attend college. The college financial aid office administers grants, loans, scholarships and part-time employment. To learn more about student financial aid programs, visit studentaid.gov (federal web site) and www.collegefortexans.com (state web site). To reflect changes in students eligibility and needs and changes in the cost of attendance, applications are required annually. Financial aid is awarded for one academic year at a time.
It is important to read all information carefully to ensure compliance with regulations governing receipt and maintenance of financial aid funds.

Office 365/
Student Email
All students get FREE Microsoft Office 365. Office 365 includes Outlook email (which we call DCCCD Student Email), an online calendar, the Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and more) and OneDrive document storage. Install Office 365 now.
Students who have not installed Office 365 yet will automatically be assigned a free email account when registering. Each student will have his or her own unique email address.

Rising StarThe El Centro Rising Star Office provides academic and financial student support services to low income, high performing Dallas county high school graduates, in an effort to provide them access to a quality education in an urban, multicultural setting. Contact
