This article appeared in the Nov. 20, 2018, issue of the student newsletter.

In 2017, DCCCD partnered with DART so qualified students could use the DART Student GoPass mobile app and ride DART for free.

We are pleased to once again partner with DART for free paratransit service transportation for riders who are unable to use DART's bus and rail system. If you're eligible, your paratransit transportation will take you where you need to go, from origin to your destination.

If you qualify for paratransit services, you can use the program in the following locations:

  • Addison
  • Carrollton
  • Cockrell Hill
  • Dallas
  • Farmers Branch
  • Garland
  • Glenn Heights
  • Highland Park
  • Irving
  • Richardson
  • Rowlett
  • University Park
  • Plano
  • DFW Airport

  3. Schedule and complete an in-person paratransit assessment with an eligibility and training specialist at DART. The assessment will determine how your disability impacts your ability to use regular public transportation. You will take a functional, cognitive or visual assessment, as determined by your disability. The assessment is free. You will also get a photo taken for a DART Paratransit ID.
  4. Once you finish your assessment and get approved, you will get a letter from DART with your ID and password. Bring that letter or your new ID to your college's Disability Services Office.
  5. The Disability Services Office will verify your eligibility to complete the process for your DART Paratransit coupon book/pass.
