On March 25, five El Centro College Fashion Design students participated in a fashion event at Southlake Square. The event was a student design competition and all five were chosen as the top finalists.The top winner, Maria Grisolia, won a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by a local designer, Lauren James. The second runner up, Alma Mondragon, won a $500 gift card. The third runner up, Ekene Oseni, won a $250 gift card. Kenneth Espinoza and Jasmin Miles each were given an unexpected $100 gift card.
