FAQS about Commencement

Who is eligible to participate in the ceremony?

Students who graduated in Fall 2018, will be graduating in Spring 2019 or be within 9 credit hours of completing in Summer 2019.

Where can I apply for graduation?

You must submit a graduation application to the Admissions Office (A169.) or apply here.

When is the Commencement Ceremony?

Thursday, May 16th, 2019

What time is the commencement ceremony and how long does it last?

The processional begins at 1:45 and the ceremony begins at 2:00 p.m., it lasts approximately 2-3 hours.

Where is the ceremony held?

Fair Park Coliseum

Will there be a rehearsal?

No, graduates will receive all the necessary information through email and at the check-in process at the ceremony.

Please make sure your email is up to date with the degree audit office.

Where can I purchase my cap and gown?

The cap and gown will be sold at the El Centro College bookstore.

Do my guests need tickets to attend the ceremony?

No.

What if I have not submitted my paperwork by the deadline?

You will not be eligible to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
