You should apply for graduation once you have enrolled in the final courses you need for your degree or certificate.
File an application for graduation with the college from which you plan to graduate. Even if you have finished your official degree plan, filling out the application for graduation is the only way to ensure you receive your certificate or diploma.
This form informs the college when you will be completing your degree or certificate, and how you would like your name to appear on your diploma or certificate of completion.
If you have met all TSI requirements, degree/certificate and graduation requirements (including up-to-date copies of transcripts from all colleges attended outside the DCCCD), you will be awarded your degree or certificate of completion at the end of the appropriate term.
You must complete 25% of the total credit hours within your degree or certificate at the college awarding the degree or certificate.
For more detailed information about
degree and certificate requirements for graduation, see the catalog.
To receive a diploma or certificate, you must complete an Application for Graduation and submit it to the Admissions Office (A169). You should apply for graduation when you are enrolled in the last course required for your degree.
El Centro College may graduate current and former students who have met graduation requirements with or without the student's permission. If you plan to continue taking courses in any of the colleges of the DCCCD after you complete your degree and you wish to receive financial aid, please contact the Financial Aid Office as soon as possible.
Diplomas and certificates are awarded at the end of the Fall semester, Spring semester (which includes Winter term), and Summer semester (which includes May term). It will take several weeks after a semester ends to process all of the applications. We will send an email when your degree or certificate has been awarded and your certificate or diploma is ready to be picked up at the Admissions Office (A169).
