STEM Student Success Center

Resources available to students at the STEMS2C include:


 Transfer Assistant 

STEM Center, We provide... 

  • One-on-one service to assist students in meeting the credentials  needed to transfer to a university
  • Assist students with exploring universities that will match there chosen STEM fields
  • Assist students with filling out applications and writing essays for college entrance Provide opportunities for students to visit and explore various 4-year college STEM programs
  • Asist students with searching for available scholarships to 4-year universities
  • Host college interest sessions for students looking to transfer to universities

Many of them have information specifically geared towards transfer students.  Make sure to note the application deadlines for enrollment, and look to see if there are additional deadlines or requirements to get into specific majors or schools within the university.



  • Assist new STEM students with getting acclimated to college life
  • Create educational and career pathways for success
  • Provide knowledge and understanding about STEM for student interest 
  • Mentor students for academic success in their stem fields

El Centro offers internships for students with a proven interest in the STEM fields. Here are the steps in obtaining internships: 

  1. Email your resume to aclawson@dcccd.edu
  2. Once your resume is received, you will received a link to the STEM Internship Appication
  3. Complete the Criminal Background Check Form
  4. El Centro College Human Resources (HR) will run your background check
  5. While your background check is processed, we will meet and discuss the different internship opportunities that are available for you according to your degree. Also, we will work on your intervew skills and practice through STEM Workforce Interviews
  6. When we decide what internships you might be interested in, I will send your resume to the respective companies
  7. Should the company decide to interview you, STEM center wil set up a tie and date for a bussiness professional interview with the company
  8. The company will decide if they want to hire you. At this point, either the company or STEM center will present an internship to offer you
  9. All internships are paid at a rate of $9.45 per hour and are allowed to work up to 19 hours a week
