To be eligible for a Direct Loan through the colleges of DCCCD:
- You must have a completed Financial Aid file, which means you must complete
Verification (if selected) and submit any required documents, including transcripts.
- If you have high loan balances, as reported on your Student Aid Report, you will be required to complete an
Excessive Loan Limit form (PDF - 68KB) so we can evaluate your remaining loan eligibility at the colleges of the Dallas County Community College District. If you are in this category, we will notify you before we process a Direct Loan.
- We must receive and evaluate official transcripts from all other institutions you have attended before we can award a loan.
- You must meet the
Satisfactory Academic Progress standards as set by the colleges of the Dallas County Community College District.
- You must be registered in six (6) credit hours of course work. Flex courses that start prior to and end after the semester are not eligible.
- You must not have any prior institutional balance or blocks.
- You must choose your preferred refund/disbursement method through
eRefunds.
- You must complete a
Master Promissory Note for a college of the Dallas County Community College District.
- You must complete a
Loan Entrance Counseling Session.
