WorkReadyU Eligibility Requirements

Am I Eligible For The WorkReadyU Program? 

You are eligible if you: 

  • Have valid photo IDs — prospective students must bring two forms of government-issued identification to orientation (passports are accepted) 
  • Do not have a bachelor's or advanced degree 
  • Live in the Dallas County program service area (required)
  • Are 16 years or older 
    • If you are 16, you must provide the following:  
      • Official court order or letter from a probation officer (mandated by Texas Law) 
      • Official withdrawal paperwork from the last school attended 
      • A parent's (or legal guardian's) signature on the student enrollment form* 
         
    • If you are 17 or 18, you must provide the following:  
      • Official withdrawal paperwork from the last school attended 
      • If home schooled, a letter from parent stating such 
      • A parent's (or legal guardian's) signature on the student enrollment form*  
         
    • If you no longer live with a parent or guardian, you must provide one of the following:  
      • Proof that you live separate from a parent or guardian (ex: utility bill in your name, marriage license or rental agreement)  
      • Proof of homelessness (e.g., enrollment form* or admittance form from a private organization or homeless shelter)  

*Enrollment forms for all students who are 18 years old or younger must be signed and dated in ink by the student's parent or guardian. Forms are available online or at a DCCCD WorkReadyU office near you. Properly completed paperwork is required for admittance into the program.
