Today, there is a significant decline in students and teachers pursuing the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) leaving our country in need of scientists, engineers and innovators to stay competitive with other countries. President Barack Obama has set a priority of increasing the number of students and teachers who are proficient in these fields. In a decade, the expectation is to increase in the field Mathematics by 16%, Computer Systems Analysts by 22%, Systems Software Developers by 32%, Medical Scientists by 36% and Biomedical Engineers by 62%.
