Fordham Scholarship

The 36th Annual Cecil Wallace Fordham
Memorial Awards in Visual Arts
April 10, 2015

The Cecil Wallace Fordham Memorial Award in Visual Arts, the Alice Jones Berding Memorial Award in Music, and the Eleanor Jones Award in Creative Writing are given to students who excel in art, music and creative writing. All three awards are funded through endowments, and are administered by the DCCCD Foundation. Each outstanding student receives a cash award of $500, made possible by gifts from the Jones family. The general public is invited to view the visual arts exhibit and to attend the music concert on the day of the awards ceremony.

The Cecil Wallace Foundation Award in Visual Arts, made possible with a gift from Fordham’s daughter, Eleanor Fordham Jones, and her family, was created to remember Mr. Fordham’s love of visual beauty. The 2013 recipient of the Cecil Wallace Fordham Memorial Award in Visual Arts is Mr. Raymond Pratt. He was announced as scholarship recipient and accepted his award at the Fordham Scholarship Winners Art Show and Reception on Friday, April 5, 2013, in the H. Paxton Moore Gallery at El Centro College.


The 2014 recipient of the Cecil Wallace Fordham Memorial Award in Visual Arts is Mr. Andrew Phinisee. He was announced as scholarship recipient and accepted his award at the Fordham Scholarship Winners Art Show and Reception on Friday, April 3, 2014, in the H. Paxton Moore Gallery at El Centro College.

The 2015 recipient of the Cecil Wallace Fordham Memorial Award in Visual Arts is Mr. Enrique Hernandez. He was announced as scholarship recipient and accepted his award at the Fordham Scholarship Winners Art Show and Reception on Friday, April 10, 2015, in the H. Paxton Moore Gallery at El Centro College.
