Elizabeth Martin, B.S.N., RN

Vocational Nursing faculty

Elizabeth Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Dillard University in New Orleans and has completed courses toward a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix. She also holds a certificate as a school nurse practitioner from Texas Woman’s University.

A faculty member since 1990, she also worked at New Orleans’ Mercy Hospital Nursing School for three years, spent nine years in nursing in the Dallas Independent School District and also worked many years with home health care and various doctors. She belongs to the Texas Association of Vocational Nurse Educators and Texas Community College Teachers Association.

She enjoys watching nursing students make the transformation from little confidence and experience to having skills and confidence in the classroom and clinical setting. Ms. Martin teaches the health occupations core curriculum classes on basic skills, pharmacology and pathophysiology.
