  • The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is the oldest and largest professional organization for interior designers in North America, with more than 40,000 members, including more than 12,000 students. Check out the student ASID chapter Facebook page.
  • The Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) is the accrediting body for interior design in higher education in the U.S. and Canada.
  • The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) is dedicated to improving the lighted environment and includes lighting designers, architects, distributors, contractors and people in government and education.
  • The Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) promotes the advancement of education and research in interior design, fostering exchange of information with related design disciplines.
  • The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is a professional networking and educational association of 13,000 members with 10 design specialty forums and 29 chapters worldwide.
  • The National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) provides certification for interior designers with an exam whose passing represents to the public the competency of its licensed professionals. While NCIDQ does not offer membership to individuals, professional interior designers can become certificate holders by completing the examination process.
  • Plinth and Chintz describes its goal as demystifying the industry, educating potential students about the interior design community and opening up the world of career possibilities in interior design.
