Program Coordinator and Faculty
Risë Talbot has been a full-time faculty member since 2007, and has served as program coordinator since 2011. She became an adjunct faculty member for the Interior Design program in 1995 and returned in 2005, continuing as an adjunct through spring 2007 when a full-time position opened. She holds a bachelor’s degree in interior design with a minor in art from Texas State University.
Ms. Talbot began her career in interior design in 1977 working in a furniture store where she met her husband and joined him in his cabinet business. Moving to Dallas in 1980, she worked under well-known designers Gay Freeman; Lucile Payne, ASID; Judy Winger, ASID; Margaret Chambers, ASID; Jeanine Bazer-Schwartz, FASID; Irv Schwartz, FAIA; and Carol Hermanovski. Risë has owned Pace Design Group since 1987, focusing on residential and small commercial design projects.
As a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) passing the National Council for Interior Design Qualifying Exam (NCIDQ) exam in 1980, she has served in various leadership positions of the Dallas Design Community and in the Texas chapter as treasurer, vice president and newsletter editor. Risë is a registered interior designer (RID) and a member of the Texas Association for Interior Design (TAID) and Illuminating Engineering Society.
