“I saw on El Centro's Facebook page that they were accepting applications for a new Dental Hygiene program; I was already interested in a health care profession. I have a big family — a daughter, mom, sisters and brothers — and I want to be successful and help take care of them.
“So far in my classes, I’ve found it really interesting to look at the anatomy of people's teeth, especially what you can see clinically with X-rays. All of it is really interesting. Now when I relate what I'm learning to what I've experienced at the dentist, I know more about what's supposed to be done, why it's being done and what they might have missed. My ideal job would be to work with kids in an established practice, somewhere where I can grow. I want to have a good foundation, which I know I can get in this program.”
