“I found out about this program from a co-worker. I was a dental assistant for 10 years in a general and cosmetic dental practice, and I wanted to become a hygienist for both better pay and to have more responsibility.
“As a dental assistant, it was rewarding for me to feel like I was making a difference, and I wanted to have more training so patients could really rely on me for information. I really like learning about preventive care, causes of problems and diseases and the reasoning behind why certain things are recommended or done. Knowing more is really interesting to me because I can relate everything together.”
