Hannah Bludworth is a native Texan and abstract painter currently residing in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed a BA in Painting at Texas Woman's University. Her work is defined by lucid layers of washed paint beneath frenetic strokes of bold colors. Bludworth's work attempts to capture the vague spaces between reality, dreams, figurative, and non-figurative.

See what El Centro creative students are sharing in the arts, drama, and music fields! Monetary prizes will be awarded to First Place and three Honorable Mentions by Juror Bailey Chapman. Bailey Chapman is an artist and musician. She received her BFA in Painting from the University of North Texas and an MFA in Painting from Texas Woman's University. Chapman is the drummer for Dallas punk bands Pearl Earl and Heavy Pulp, and Los Angeles band Thelma and the Sleaze.

The H. Paxton Moore Fine Art Gallery at El Centro College announces its annual student art exhibition. Each spring, this juried competition showcases work from our studio art classes here at El Centro College. The exhibit will feature art in the categories of Painting/Watercolor, Drawing, Mixed Media, Digital Imaging, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Fibers. This year’s judges are Jessica Trevizo and Mylan Ngyen, both of whom are artists and curators from the DFW area.

The Cecil Wallace Fordham Award in Visual Arts is presented each year to an outstanding art student at each of the seven Dallas County Community Colleges. Each Fordham winner receives a cash award and the opportunity to participate in the annual art exhibition at H. Paxton Moore Fine Art at El Centro College. The Cecil Wallace Fordham Award is made possible by a gift from Mr. Fordham’s daughter, Eleanor Fordham Jones, and her family. This gift was made in memory of his love for visual beauty.
