Applying for College

The colleges of DCCCD have an open-door admissions policy to ensure that every person has the opportunity to get a college education.

To take classes for college credit, you must first complete the application for admission. Apply early to make s​ure you have plenty of time to visit with an advisor, complete assessment testing and plan your course schedule. See our admission requirements for more information.

Note: If you are an international student, please visit the International Student Admission page for more information or to contact us with questions. All other students can apply in one of three ways:

  1. Online
    Apply online using the eConnect Application for Credit Admissions. eConnect is a Web service that lets you get personalized information and conduct business online.
    Please note: If you were formerly enrolled as a credit student at a college of DCCCD but have not registered within the past year, you must submit an updated admissions application.
  2. By mail or fax
    Print this application (PDF - 315KB), fill it out, and mail or fax it to the college of your choice.
  3. In person
    Drop by the Admissions/Registrar’s Office at the college you wish to attend and complete an admissions application in person.

What you will need

  • Completed application
  • If available, your official high school transcript, a copy of your diploma or a copy of your GED certificate. (If you graduated from high school within the past five years, your transcript is required.)
  • Official college transcripts, if you have already attended another college. Have your transcripts sent directly to the college of DCCCD you wish to attend. Many courses have prerequisites that must be met before registering. As a result, students who have not submitted transcripts may not be able to register for all desired classes.   • Proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination (some exemptions apply)

You may also be asked to provide documentary evidence of your residency status. The amount of tuition charged is based on your residency classification.

After you apply

Once you have been admitted as a student, you will receive a welcome email with information on getting started. You will be given a student ID and will be able to log in to eConnect, a web service that provides a variety of online services to students, faculty and staff. At this time, please complete the following steps:

  1. Fill out the Student Information Profile online in eConnect.

    Completing your Student Information Profile will allow an enrollment representative to provide you with more personalized service. To access your Student Information Profile, sign in to eConnect (login required). On the Current Credit Student Menu under “My Personal Information,” select “Student Information Profile.”
  2. Take an online career interest assessment using Choices360.

    A career interest assessment helps you identify your strengths and will allow an enrollment representative to help you explore career paths and degree options. You will receive your results by email; please bring them with you to your pre-advising and advising appointments.
