Wellness Center

The El Centro Wellness Center is located on the 14th and 15th floors of the Bank of America Parking Building, adjacent to ECC’s downtown campus. This facility is equipped with several workout spaces, a lap pool, running track, full-service locker rooms, sauna, Jacuzzi and various group activity rooms.

Open enrollment is available to DCCCD students, faculty, and staff, as well as the general public. There are no initiation fees or contracts.

  • Monday - Friday:  5:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Saturday:  8 a.m.– 3 p.m.

Group instruction Classes will still meet on Wednesday and Saturday at regular time.

Group Exercise Schedule - January 2018



Classes will be added or changed as instructors are added to staff. Noon and evening classes are in the planning.

  • Barre – A fusion of dance, Pilates, and Yoga. Great for core stability, balance, agility, and coordination.
  • Boot Camp: Fit & Lean – Total body training to help sculpt the body. Similar to the Jillian Michaels program.
  • Cardio Fit Camp- A variety of Aerobic & resistance training exercises designed to improve aerobic capacity, muscular strength & endurance, agility, and functional capacity.
  • Chisel – Resistance training for balanced muscle development throughout the body and designed to promote a leaner body composition.
  • Core & More – A focus strengthening of the abdomen, lower back, and pelvic regions with resistance training and adding balance development of the skeletal muscle system throughout the body.
  • Cardio Kick Box – Cross-training including aerobic training with martial arts, strength training, and flexibility to help improve striking power and efficiency.
  • Pilates – A program to improve strength, flexibility, body alignment, control and balance.
  • Spin – no impact aerobic interval training on stationary cycles with a guided variation in tempo, grade, and speed.
  • TRX – Suspended resistance training. Usage of body weight resistance to help develop core stability, balance, coordination, and improved range of motion.
  • Yoga – a combination of strength and flexibility movements to promote overall balance in the body, core stability, improved range of motion, and stress relief.
  • Zumba – an aerobic exercise routine with Latin and Urban dance movements that also helps develop coordination, balance, agility, and reaction time.
  • Beginner Spin – Very light impact aerobic interval training on stationary cycles with step by step guided variation in slow tempo, grade, and moderate speed.
  • Beginner Yoga – A light and moderate combination of strength and flexibility movements to promote overall balance in the body, core stability, improved range of motion, and stress relief. Structured for slower pace and beginner individuals.
  • Beginner TRX – Slight resistance training. Usage of body weight resistance to help develop core stability, balance, coordination, and improved range of motion. Pace modified to a beginner level to obtain best quality of workout for learning level individuals.
