Spotlight: Community Health Care Worker

Community Health Workers provides cultural mediation between communities and human services systems; informal counseling and social support; culturally and linguistically appropriate health education; advocacy for individual and community health needs; assurance that people get the health services they need; build individual and community capacity; or provide referral and follow-up services. 

Spotlight: CPR

El Centro College is an approved Community Training Center for CPR for the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in Basic Life Support(BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. El Centro's Continuing/Workforce division offers all three courses. The Basic Life Support course meets the requirements for entry into your Health Occupations Program.
