Machine Tool Technology

Skilled machinists influence many facets of America’s industries. The Machine Tool Technology program prepares students to enter the machine tool trade.  Students learn skills, such as, blue print reading, mechanical inspection methods, safety training, lathes, drills, and milling operations. Safety classes are taught by an OSHA certified trainer and students receive completion cards at the end of the training.

Pipe Welding

The Pipe Welding program is designed to prepare students for an entry level position as a pipe welder. Major emphasis is placed on the welding, maintenance, and repair of a variety of pipe systems. At the end of the Pipe Welding program, students will be prepared for the 6G Pipe Welding certification test. Through hands-on training and real-world experience, students learn skills that are essential in working with pipe systems. These skills include using various welding processes and positions, blue print reading, and safety training.

Fundamentals of Welding

The Fundamentals of Welding program prepares students for an entry-level position in welding. Through hands-on training and real-world experience, students learn basic skills that are essential in obtaining a job in the field. These skills include using various welding processes, blue print reading, and safety training. Safety classes are taught by an OSHA certified trainer and students receive completion cards at the end of the training. The Fundamentals of Welding program is an intensive training class that lasts for approximately 11 weeks.

Maintenance Welding

The Maintenance Welding program prepares students for a fulfilling career within the world of welding. It provides an introduction to oxy-fuel and arc welding and cutting practices and procedures. Through hands-on training and real-world experience, students learn skills that are essential in working with various structures. These skills include using various welding processes and positions, blue print reading, and safety training. Safety classes are taught by an OSHA certified trainer and students receive completion cards at the end of the training.

Fabrication Welding

The Fabrication Welding program emphasizes the application of fabrication and layout skills. Major emphasis is also placed on welding’s usage in construction and on structural shapes. Through hands-on training and real-world experience, students learn skills that are essential in working on structural metal parts. These skills include using various welding processes, blue print reading, and safety training. Safety classes are taught by an OSHA certified trainer and students receive completion cards at the end of the training.

Combination Welder

The Combination Welder program prepares students for a position in the world of welding. This is a highly intensive program that teaches both basic and advanced welding skills. Courses utilize hands-on training that give you real-world experience. Each section of the program lasts approximately 11 weeks.

The Combination Welder program consists of a combination of Fundamentals of Welding, Maintenance Welding, and Pipe Welding. Fundamentals of Welding must be completed before beginning Maintenance Welding or Pipe Welding.

Art Metals

The Art Metals program prepares students for a career in either welding or metal sculpture. Art Metals courses teach intermediate welding skills as well as troubleshooting problems that may arise in art studio environment. This is an intensive program that utilizes hands-on training, and provides real-world experience. Each level of courses lasts approximately 11 weeks.

Next Step

Next Step classes are specifically designed for students with development disabilities. Courses are intended to prepare students for work by teaching interpersonal skills, basic work-related academic and computer skills, and work readiness skills, such as how to get and keep a job. Classes span two-semester periods and have been shown to greatly improve work readiness and basic job skills.

Moving On

Moving On classes are specifically designed for students with certain types of learning disabilities. Courses are intended to prepare students for work by teaching interpersonal skills, basic work-related academic and computer skills, and work readiness skills, such as how to get and keep a job. Classes span two-semester peri-ods and have been shown to greatly improve work readiness and basic job skills.

Job Search Assistance

This course covers job readiness preparation such as resume, cover letter and thank-you letter writing, as well as interviewing and networking techniques. All of these skills enhance the student’s ability to successfully seek gainful employment in their area of expertise.

Upon completion of this course, students will have successfully completed a "portfolio." This portfolio will contain a sample copy of the student’s job application, a resume, a cover letter, job interview information, employer contact information and more.
