Paralegal Studies

Are you a detail-oriented, responsible person who gets satisfaction from completing precise research? Would you like to train for an in-demand job with high responsibility that also pays well? Are you fascinated by law but aren’t sure yet whether you want to go to law school?

The Paralegal program is designed to teach you to work as a paralegal to attorneys. It also can help you decide if a law career is right for you. Learn how to handle routine assignments for attorneys, with opportunities for advancement in many areas. Ours is one of only a handful of paralegal programs in the state approved by the American Bar Association.

The Paralegal program, offered only at El Centro College, is not only widely respected but is also an incredible bargain. Its setting at El Centro College in downtown Dallas provides convenient access to the Records Building, George Allen Civil Courthouse, Frank Crowley Criminal Courthouse and Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse. A large number of law firms are located downtown.

Career Opportunities

Paralegals, or legal assistants, typically work in law firms, corporations and government agencies. A Paralegal associate degree can land you an immediate job in the workforce. Or, it can serve as the base for more education or other law-related careers.
