
Each semester the Fashion Marketing Program and students host and participate in events both on campus and in the fashion community.
In fall 2012 the “Fashion Your Future” lecture series was started to introduce the fashion marketing students to the changes in career opportunities. The series opened on September with Bri Crum, Owner of Plan B PR speaking to the students.
The Fashion Society, an organization of students interested in fashion design and fashion marketing careers, hosted their semi-annual bake sale .
As a class project, the Fashion Promotion students, hosted an accessories trunk show in November. This trunk featured the handbags designed by fashion marketing student Darlene Rives-Parker and jewelry available from Stella and Dot stylist and student Anna Barrientos. The “Power of Two: Leather and Style” trunk show was held at the Cedar Hill Design Center on November 17, 2013 from 1-3 p.m.
Planning is underway for the spring 2013 annual El Centro College Fashion Show “Eye 4 Fashion” which will be held on campus in the Performance Hall on 3
Friday, March 10, 2013, at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the college Cashier’s Office, located on the second floor or A Building on the Main Campus. The Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing students produce the fashion show that will feature the collections of twelve student designers. El Centro College is bringing fashion back to downtown Dallas one look at a time.
