This course is designed as a preparatory course for students who are applying to re-enter any Semester of the Vocational Nursing program (VNSG 1509, 1510, 2504). This course serves to help students achieve success in answering test items that involve critical thinking skills. The course is made available to registered students via e-Campus and requires purchase of an electronic NCLEX exam question book – (Please do not purchase until instruction received within the course). The course content includes reading and quizzes relating to test taking strategies, Fundamental principles/concepts accompanied by medical-surgical disorders with medications appropriate for this level in the nursing program, and Client Needs/NCLEX exam categories. The course is self-paced with completion required within 10 weeks of registering for the course. Each week study quizzes with a minimum of 85 or more questions that provide rationale to enhance one’s test-taking ability are required. Upon completion of course students will have worked on test-taking skills/strategies with a minimum of 850 -1080+ questions to an unlimited maximum. The main goal for the course is to work toward a content Mastery level of 2 to 3 for an overall improvement in classroom and national standardized exams.
