This course is designed for students who are applying to re-enter fall or spring of vocational nursing (VNSG1509/1510). The course is made available to registered students via e-campus and requires purchase of a textbook with access code. Please make sure it has the access code, if you purchase used or from internet source. There are 22 chapters of content with 12 study quizzes that provide rationale to enhance one’s test-taking ability. Sixteen exams are required with a minimum pass score of 80%.  The course content includes test taking strategies, infection control, communication, cultural competence, intravenous and blood therapy, acid-base imbalances, addiction, crisis interventions, and medical-surgical disorders and medications appropriate for this level in the nursing program. Students will use case studies and real clinical situations to understand nursing process concepts and write nursing care plans for course work.  Students will learn charting for clinical situations.  This course is designed for students who are currently enrolled in El Centro Associate Degree Program.
