  1. A teacher buys a 30 ft roll of yarn. After cutting 12 pieces of 1¼ ft each, how much does she have left?

  2. A stocker picks up a case containing 24 cans of soda with each can weighing ¾ lb and another case containing 24 cans of milk weighing ½ lb each. What is the total amount of weight he is carrying?

  3. During a workout, one man jogs 5¼ miles and another jogs 4½ miles. How many quarter miles (¼ mile) have they jogged all together?

  4. A man started a new exercise program weighing 250 lbs. In three consecutive weeks he lost 2¾ lbs, 1¾ lbs, and 3½ lbs. How much did he weigh at the end of the three weeks?
