New Student Orientation


Welcome to El Centro College!

We're excited that you have chosen to begin your education with us!

As a part of the El Centro College enrollment process, all new college students are required to attend a New Student Orientation session where they will register for courses. For more information, view our New Student Orientation Policy.

All students interested in attending El Centro College should complete these steps.

 
 

Apply:

Apply to the college.
 

Submit Documents:

Submit high school/college transcripts and *meningitis vaccination documentation.

Financial Aid:

Submit a financial aid application as soon as possible. *Current application 2014-2015*.
*Students under 22 years of age. Contact the Admissions Office for more information

Where Do You Fit?

Review and complete the additional steps below in the category that best suits you.
 
  1. Visit the Academic Advising Office for information on Pre-Assessment and the TSI Assessment
  2. Complete the TSI Assessment if necessary
  3. Sign up for and attend New Student Orientation. You will register for courses at New Student Orientation

  3. Sign up for and attend New Student Orientation. You will register for courses at New Student Orientation
  1. Visit the Academic Advising Office for information on Pre-Assessment and the TSI Assessment
  2. Complete the TSI Assessment if necessary
  3. Pick up your registration Packet at the Office of Student Veteran Services
  4. Sign up for and attend New Student Orientation. You will register for courses at New Student Orientation
  5. After registering for courses, submit VA documentation to the Office of Student Veteran Services
  1. Visit the Academic Advising Office with college transcript/proof of college credit earned
  2. Register for courses with an Academic Advisor
  3. Recommended: Attend Transfer Orientation to learn more about the college and what we have to offer

What Happens at New Student Orientation?


At New Student Orientation you will:
  • Discover the classes needed to work towards your degree.
  • Register for classes.
  • Learn more about the financial aid process.
  • Learn about free services that are available on campus to help you reach academic success.
  • Receive a tour of the college.
  • Learn how to use online tools to handle your academic affairs, including online course registration.
  • Meet college instructors, staff and administrators.
 

How Do You Sign Up for New Student Orientation?

After you have completed the steps above, you will need to attend a New Student Orientation session on campus or online. New Student Orientation sessions for spring courses will begin in November. Spring Priority Deadline for Financial Aid: October 1, 2014
Spring Registration: November 24, 2014 - January 14, 2015
