Request Form ~ Instructional Competencies
WHAT
Librarians are available to assist you in the instructional process by presenting library classes individually tailored to specific class assignments or to your students' topics.
We welcome the opportunity to work with you and your class.
WHY
Information skills are critical for student success and lifelong learning.
Most students are not familiar with the multitude of information sources available via online databases, library catalogs, and reliable web sources.
Students planning to transfer to four year colleges should be aware that their academic success will depend on good information retrieval skills.
The information explosion has made the search for accurate information much more complex.
The Competency Standards outlined in the Association of College and Research Libraries' Objectives for Information Literacy Instruction provide the framework for develoment of our instructional classes.
