Ways to Search the DCCCD Online Catalog
From the DCCCD Libraries homepage or from the El Centro Library homepage, click Library Catalog.
The next screen displays the numerous ways you can search for items in the DCCCD Online Catalog:

| Type of Search | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Keyword | Searches authors, titles, subjects, table of contents and content notes. |
| Subject | Uses the Library of Congress Subject Headings to search for items. These are the subject headings listed in the item record. |
| Author | Searches by the author's last name |
| Title | Searches by title. You can search by just the first few words of a title. |
| Author/Title | Using both an author AND a title, displays only items maching both the author's name and the title |
| Call Number | Search the listing of books by call number. You can search by the beginning call number letters also and browse the display of books. |
| Check Your Record | To see a list of books you have checked out, to renew books, or see any fines. |
| ILL | To request materials not found in the DCCCD. |
| Reserves | To find course materials placed on reserve by an instructor. (middle of the links bar on the top of the El Centro Library page) |
