4.48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane
Date:
Friday, March 8, 2013 - 6:00pm to 9:30pm

Directed by Vanessa Mercado Taylor

4:48 am, the darkest time of night. When thoughts fracture, memories distort and the will to live disappears. In a moment of clarity, she clings to a truth that no one ever utters and must deal with her own mortality. Written on the eve of her own suicide, Sara Kane's 4.48 psychosis is an exploration of one young woman's struggle with depression, isolation and suicide.

El Centro's performance is at the intersection of performance art, theatre and installation, breaking open the theatrical walls and entering the very space in which this broken mind resides by using multiple spaces and allowing the audience to decide where they will go and what they will see.
