Dual Credit
What is Dual Credit?
  • In partnership with local high schools, EL Centro College Dual Credit program offers qualified high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to earn college credit while completing high school requirements.
  • Tuition is free for courses that are considered dual credit. Students receive both high school and college credit for the course(s) they take. There must be an agreement between El Centro College and the high school.
  • If a student takes a course for concurrent credit, then the tuition is not waived. Concurrent credit refers to enrollment for which the student receives college credit only.
  • For Dual Credit courses taken at the college, students must purchase their college textbooks and any other materials that are needed for the college course. For courses taken at the high school, the school district will pay for the books in some cases, please check with your counselor.
