History and Purpose

O.L.A.S. (formally known as M.A.S.O.) is the oldest Latino student organization at El Centro College. Because we believe in higher education and in community service, many of our activities are in outreach to younger people. We serve as tutors and mentors, participate in college recruitment events, and try to be positive role models.
In 1999, the name was changed to the Organization of Latin American Students in order to be more inclusive towards the growing population of Latin American students attending El Centro College.
