Adopt an Angel

Every year we try to make Christmas special by organizing the Adopt an Angel Program. Volunteers from our El Centro community adopt a child provided by the ARC staff. Come by our office to register your child no later than October 31st.



Child Care Reimbursement

Through a calculation of your hours in school, and other information, we help students with child care costs. The payment is sent directly to the licensed child care provider or registered day home.

NOTE: At this time the program is full, but we are taking names for the waiting list.



Emergency Loans

We provide emergency loans for small bills and temporary help. However you must have a means of repaying the loan before the end of the semester.



Referrals to Outside Agencies

We help students locate off campus assistance such as housing, health care, counseling, food and clothing. Information and Referral Hotline: 214.379.HELP(4357)



S.U.R.G.E. Program

Students in Under-Represented Gender Education (SURGE) is designed to assist and advise students who are seeking degrees in non-traditional occupations. Males who demonstrate financial need and are interested in the following majors:
  • Paralegal
  • Accounting
  • Accounting
  • Fashion Marketing
  • Nursing (LVN/RN)
  • Business Office Systems & Support (BOSS)
  • Medical Assisting
  • Medical Transcription
  • Surgical Technologist
Females who demonstrate financial need and are interested in the following majors:
  • Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications

Textbook Lending

Do you need assistance with books? The ARC has a variety of books that are available for check out for the entire semester.

If you receive financial aid or the PELL grant, you must use your book check prior to applying for this service.



Advising

Advising is provided to students who are receiving services from ARC.



Single Parent's Support Group

This group is designed to provide emotional support to single parents who are making strides to achieve their educational goals.
