Taking College Classes
El Centro College and Middle College cooperate
in paying tuition and fees and Middle College will purchase books
for students who take college classes at El Centro for credit. Students
who wan to take El Centro classes for dual or concurrent credit
must meet certain standards.
- be at least sixteen years old
- have at least 12 high school credits
- have at least an 80 average in core subjects
- have a record of good attendance
- meet the El Centro College testing requirements
for admission as a student in the class
In some cases, the principal may have discretion
to waive some of these requirements.
Enrolling in college classes involves both Middle
College and El Centro counseling staffs. Details concerning college
course information are in the Student Handbook.
students who wish to pay tuition and purchase
books on their own may also enroll for El Centro classes provided
they meet El Centro admission requirements.
Classes taken under these conditions will not
be counted for dual or concurrent credit and must not conflict with
the Middle College schedule.
