About Us

El Centro College (ECC), the first of 7 colleges in the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD), in partnership with the Houston Community College System (HCCS), developed this website to provide an online resource manual to assist other colleges and GED sites in replicating a project that would successfully transition GED students to college level courses. We chose to use a "learning community" or paired course approach, where students were enrolled in a GED course as well as an introductory college level technical course.

The information and documents contained in this website are what the project used to develop and implement the project in Dallas and Houston.
