| Distance Education at El Centro El Centro offers exciting opportunities to students to enrich the traditional classroom experience with a variety of forms of enhancement. In some courses, students meet every class session, but are enriched with on-line or other activities. In other courses, students take classes which may meet fewer hours per week and spend some time with on-line activities, printed materials, TV or video taped lessons. In other course offerings, the student can take a course without ever visiting the College. These "distance" offerings are defined as one of three levels. Level I - Enhanced courses that meet for at least 50% of the required class hours Level II - Enhanced courses that meet less than 50% of the time, with student services offered on the El Centro campus Level III - Courses taken away from the campus, with all services provided to students away from the Dallas area by the Dallas Telecollege Instructional methods may include one of the following: eCampus - On-line course delivery system using the BlackBoard learning system Telecourse - Courses viewed on cable TV or videotape Telecourse plus - Cable TV/videotape with an on-line component |
