WINDOWS SERVER 2003 MCSA CERTIFICATION
MICROSOFT CERTIFIED SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR


In order to obtain Microsoft's MCSA certification, you must successfully pass 3 core exams and 1 elective exam.
 

Students must complete EACH of the following required courses:

ITMC 1419 Installing and Administering MS Win Server Operating Systems (Exams 70-290)
ITMC 1458 Supporting MS Win Client Network Operating Systems (Exam 70-270)

ITMC 1442

Implementing a Microsoft Windows Network Infrastructure: Network Services
(Exam 70-291)

 
Students must then complete ONE of the following elective courses:
ITMC 2455 Deploying and Managing Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (Exam 70-227)
ITMC 2403 Administering a Microsoft SQL Server Database (Exam 70-228)
ITMC 2404 Implementing and Managing Microsoft Exchange (Exam 70-284)
ITNW 1492 Special Topics - Implementing and Administering Security in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network (Exam 70-299)
 
Alternative to the electives listed above, the following third-party certification combinations may substitute for a MCSA elective:

  MCSA on Microsoft Windows 2000
  MCSE on Microsoft Windows 2000
  MCSE on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
  CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+
  CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Server+
  CompTIA Security+

 
El Centro's certificate and associate degree programs also allow the following as elective courses:
ITMC 2436 Designing Microsoft Exchange for the Enterprise (Exam 70-225)
ITMC 2437 Programming a Microsoft SQL Server Database (Exam 70-229)
ITNW 1492 Special Topics (varies)
ITSY 1442 Information Technology Security (Security+)
