Space Holder

The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program is a seventy-two credit hour curriculum leading to the Associate of Applied Science Degree. The nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission and the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. The ADN program is offered at El Centro college, with a satellite program at Brookhaven College.

SCIT 1407 formerly BIOL 1470, and SCIT 1408 fomerly BIOL 1472. BIOL 1470/1472 accepted for SCIT 1407/1408 within five-year time limit. BIOL 1408 recommended prior to SCIT 1407 if no previous high school biology. BIOL 1407 is a required prerequisite for BIOL 2401.

MATH 1414 is also accepted for the college algebra requirement.

Humanities electives include ARTS 1301, Foreign Language courses, HUMA 1301, MUSI 1306, PHIL 1301, DRAM 1310, English 2000 level literature courses. The humanities elective course may be completed before but NOT AFTER the semester indicated.

A "C" grade or better is required in all courses. Students enrolling in this program who plan to transfer to a four-year institutuion should consult an advisor or counselor regarding transfer requirements and the transferability of these courses to the four-year institution of their choice.

Support courses may be completed before but NOT after the semester indicated.

NOTE: Support courses completed at colleges and universities outside the DCCCD must be approved for transfer credit prior to the semester in which the course is required according to the curriculum outline.
