Occupational
Demand: The establishment of International
Business and Trade Program, under El Centro College is crucial to meet
the manpower needs of international businesses located in the City of Dallas.
Dallas became the top business city in the U.S. in 1999. (See
Fortune Magazine, December, 1999).
Dallas
continues to expand and is attracting foreign investment. "Exports are
expected to more than double over the next ten years", as reported in the
Winter, 2000 Texas
Economic Update. This positive trend of the export sector suggests
greater job opportunity in Dallas for international business graduates.
The salary varies according to the type of profession. For International
Business graduates with Associates Degree, based on a recent survey, the
entry-level salary range for import/export specialist is between $28,000-33,000.
