This course is designed for students who are applying to re-enter Semester I of nursing (Nursing 1423). The course is made available to registered students via e-campus and requires purchase of a textbook with accompanying CD. The CD is PC compatible only and cannot be utilized on a Mac. There are 9 chapters of content with 6 Study quizzes that provide rationale to enhance one’s test-taking ability. Six exams are required with a minimum pass score of 75%. Exam results are printed or saved, and then submitted to the faculty for review via e-campus. The course content includes test taking strategies, infection control, geriatric care, communication, cultural competence, nutrition, basic human needs, peri-operative care, and basic life support. The course is self-paced with completion required within six weeks of registering for the course. This course serves as a preparatory course for students who are re-entering the first semester of Associate Degree Nursing to achieve success in answering test items that involve critical thinking skills.
