A review of vascular sonography including vascular physics, peripheral venous, cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial and abdominal/visceral studies. Anatomy, hemodynamics and non-invasive testing will be emphasized with some hands on learning. Also included will be the study of quality measurements, sonography safety and study exam strategies. This course follows the SDMS National Certification Registry Review guidelines. It is designed for those that want to increase their knowledge of vascular sonography while preparing for the ARDMS Vascular Technology registry. Prerequisites: Graduate of ECC DMSO program or verified current employment in the ultrasound field or current ARDMS registry or permission of the instructor. Textbook required. Most course work will be completed online. In order to receive 28 hours of SDMS CME credits, student must pass comprehensive final.
