The Community Health Worker provides cultural mediation between communities and human services systems; informal counseling and social support; culturally and linguistically appropriate health education; advocacy for individual and community health needs; assurance that people get the health services they need; build individual and community capacity; or provide referral and follow-up services. There are three courses offered in the program; Introduction to Community Health, Basic Health Profession Skills and Practicum Community Health Services.
