Health Careers Training – Frequently Asked Questions


  • Is there an application that I need to fill out for Continuing Education Healthcare programs?
    • Yes, Please attend a mandatory Orientation Session to receive an application for your program of interest. Orientation sessions are held monthly. For upcoming orientation schedule, please contact the Continuing Education office at 214-860-2147, or can be accessed online by downloading the Spring 2012 Orientation Schedule PDF.

  • How long are Continuing Education Health Career courses?
    • Health career programs vary in length from 4 weeks-4 months. Please refer to the Course Information Packet below for detailed information about the program you are interested in.

  • When is it offered/when does it start?
    • Health courses are offered every semester including summer semesters.
    • Clinical instructor will determine the final clinical schedule.

  • Where can I obtain records of my immunizations required to begin a Health Career Training Program?
    • Immunization records may be obtained by the Dallas County Health and Human Services Department at 214-819-2000 only if immunizations were administered in Dallas County. Please keep in mind that if you have immunizations missing, you must receive those shots again. Please contact Our Health Center at 214-860-2113 for immunization fees and schedule. For detailed chart on immunizations required, please read Course Information Packet pertaining to your program of interest below.

Each of the following course information packets contains all of the requirements necessary to register for health careers training. Please read through the packet for your area of interest as some training may require additional fees, testing and/or documentation.
