Health and Medical Administrative Services


Medical Coding
Medical Coding courses help prepare individuals to become professional medical coders and medical billers. Sequence includes medical terminology, pharmacology, human disease and coding and billing classes.

CPR
We offer CPR classes for the beginner, the instructor, the health care provider and re-certification in all of these areas. For course descriptions please click on the CPR Course schedule for the current semester.

Medical Interpretation
Look for an exciting new career; Medical Interpretation is one of the fastest growing areas. This course consists of three classes, which must be successfully completed to become eligible for certification. The first class is an introduction to the skills and knowledge necessary to perform the duties of medical interpretation in a health care setting.

Sterile Processing
The role of the central sterile technician is to learn and perform all aspects of sterile processing functions with basic surgical instrumentation in the health care workplace. Our courses are designed to prepare students to take the CBSPD exam. Topics include A & P, microbiology, infection control, decontamination, surgical instrumentation, prep and packaging, sterilization and inventory control.


Other Imaging Courses
El Centro also offers advance courses for currently licensed individuals:

Mammography for registered Radiographers.

Vascular Techniques and Echo Imaging classes for Sonography.

Phlebotomy
This 2-course sequence prepares individuals to take the certified Phlebotomist exam offered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
