GED (General Educational Development)

Workforce Education offers instructional courses in Reading, Writing and Math. The classes are designed to provide the skills necessary to successfully pass test in the five GED subject areas. These exams may be taken by individuals 17 and older who are not enrolled in public school. Each test is taken and scored individually.

Tests may be taken at the Bill J. Priest Campus, 1402 Corinth St., Room 1070.

GED testing is not available at El Centro College. A list of local testing sites will be provided.

PLATO Reading and Math

Self-paced courses in reading and math are available to strengthen vocabulary, reading comprehension and math skills. These courses are offered separately and may be used as a refresher, to enhance skills for job readiness or to prepare for the GED test. An instructor is on hand to assist students with any learning challenges. You may qualify for financial aid.
