Grant Proposal How-to's |
|
|
|
|
| Resource Development
assists in planning and coordinating the approach
to external funding to ensure strong, competitive
proposals and the success of the award projects.
These awards are a major source of funding for new
programs and program enhancements. All grant
proposals must go through the Office of Resource
Development and be approved by the President's Cabinet. |
| INITIATING
AND SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL |
| Proposals can be
initiated in two ways:
- Individuals or a group develop an idea for
a project and contacts the Office of Resource
Development.
- Resource Development identifies sources/programs
whose guidelines are consistent with the College
mission and strategic plan, and contacts faculty
or staff members to encourage their involvement
in developing proposals
The person or group initiating a proposal should
discuss the idea with the appropriate supervisor
and then provide Resource Development with a one-page
written summary of the proposed project. This
summary should identify the:
- Project concept
- Project director/team
- Funding source
- Request amount
- Any matching funds
- Additional space requirements
If a funding source has not been identified,
Resource Development will assist in researching
and acquiring information and guidelines for an
appropriate sources. |
| CONSIDERATION
OF PROPOSALS |
| Resource Development
will consider the following questions:
- Does the proposed project meet a recognized
need?
- Does it address elements of the College's
Strategic Plan and Mission?
- Will it integrate with existing grant projects?
