Program Description

Is a 10-week computer training program covering Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer, plus, professionalism in the workplace. It includes classroom instruction, hands-on training and practical workforce exercises.

At the conclusion of this program, students should be able to use the basic functions of the Microsoft Windows operating system, the Microsoft Office suite, the Internet and World Wide Web, email, chat, and understand the basics of operating any Windows-based software. Additionally, students should have a basic understanding of various career-fields within computer technology. Students will be able to create a resume using MS Word, a budget using MS Excel, and a presentation using MS PowerPoint.

This course is designed to prepare you for entry-level employment and/or equip you with basic computer and academic skills in order to enroll in other DCCCD programs.

Courses are held four times a year, Monday through Friday and either from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., depending on need.
