Ronald L. Reed received his Masters of Science degree from Colorado State University and his Bachelor of Science in Human Environmental Sciences from the University of Arkansas. His research interest is focused in the area of geriatric care; specifically assisted living environments and the environmental effects on older adults’ quality of life and creative, conceptual design and development. He is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and a professional member of the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC).
Ron has practiced in both commercial and residential design. His previous involvement with the Home Builder Association of Northwest Arkansas awarded him commissions to design the Showcase Home and to participate in the Parade of Homes resulting in top honors.
Ron has taught interior design at the University of Arkansas and Colorado State University. At El Centro, he teaches in the areas of color theory, basic elements of design, technical drafting, commercial design I and II, advanced capstone studio, and rendering techniques. He currently serves as the faculty advisor to the student chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
