Delores J. Key received her Masters of Science degree in Environmental Design from Texas Tech University and her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Texas Christian University. Her research interests are computer-aided design and environmental design for the older population and falls prevention. She is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers and is licensed by the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners.

Delores has fifteen years professional design experience in residential and non-residential design. She has also sub-contracted with Charlotte Comer Interiors, Inc. of Dallas as a space planner and project designer for over fourteen years. Delores and Charlotte have collaborated on projects that have included clients in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Wyoming, and South Dakota. Their projects have appeared in numerous publications including the Italian Design Magazine La Mia Casa, British Homes and Gardens, Dallas Home Design, Better Homes and Gardens Kitchen Decorating Ideas & Projects, and Romantic Style Decorating, Bedroom & Bath, and House Beautiful.

Delores was a teaching assistant at Texas Tech and taught classes in lighting, color, basic elements of design, and technical drafting. Also, while at Texas Tech Delores received the Tessie Agan National Graduate Paper Competition Award from the Journal of the American Association of Housing Educators for her research in falls among the elderly. At El Centro, Delores teaches basic elements of design and technical drawing for interior design.
